Ingredients

  • Motherwort (yimucao) 30–60 g
  • Eggs 2

Principle

Motherwort invigorates blood, dispels stasis, and regulates menses; eggs nourish yin and moisten dryness. Resolves stasis while supporting the body (syndrome differentiation required).

Effects & uses

Adjunct for irregular menses, dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, or postpartum lochia retention from qi–blood stasis (syndrome differentiation required).

Method

  1. Wash motherwort; simmer with eggs ~20 minutes; shell eggs and simmer briefly in the decoction.

How to use

  • Eat one egg and drink the broth daily for 5–7 days (**one egg per day**).

Caution

Avoid in pregnancy. Heavy menses—limit broth. Weak digestion—do not overuse. Food-care only.
