Ingredients

  • Goji berries 5–10g
  • Cassia seed (juemingzi) 3–5g (dry-roasted)
  • Honey to taste (optional)

Principle

Cassia seed clears liver heat, brightens the eyes, and moistens the intestines; goji tonifies liver and kidney and nourishes essence and vision. Goji’s sweetness and moisture soften cassia’s slight coldness—together they clear and nourish liver, brighten eyes, and ease the bowels.

Effects & uses

For liver fire or liver–kidney yin deficiency with dry eyes, blurred vision, dizziness, and constipation; public sources also mention adjunct support when blood lipids or pressure run high (syndrome differentiation required).

Method

  1. Rinse roasted cassia and goji; steep in boiling water 10–15 minutes. Re-steep; goji may be chewed.

How to use

  • One serving daily as tea; avoid prolonged heavy use—pause several days after 1–2 weeks.

Caution

Not for spleen–stomach cold with diarrhea; avoid in hypotension and pregnancy. Prefer roasted cassia—raw seeds are stronger laxatives. Seek care for serious eye disease or constipation. Not a substitute for medication.
