Ingredients

  • Astragalus 15g
  • Red jujube 5 pieces
  • Rice 50g

Principle

Astragalus tonifies qi and raises yang; jujube tonifies middle qi, nourishes blood, and calms the spirit. When qi is deficient, clear yang fails to rise and the brain lacks nourishment—together they tonify qi to generate blood and ascend to the head and eyes.

Effects & uses

For vertigo from qi and blood deficiency, often in women or after surgery, with palpitations, insomnia, pale face, worse with exertion (syndrome differentiation required).

Method

  1. Rinse astragalus, pit jujube, and cook with rice into congee.

How to use

  • Eat at breakfast or dinner 3–4 times per week.

Caution

Not for liver yang rising or phlegm-damp obstruction. Stop during common cold with fever. Not a substitute for medication.
