Ingredients

  • Rice 50g
  • Figs 30g
  • Honey to taste

Principle

Figs clear heat, promote fluids, and strengthen spleen appetite; honey moistens dryness; with rice as congee the nature is balanced for daily constipation care.

Effects & uses

Suitable as daily adjunct for mild constipation and intestinal dryness (syndrome differentiation required).

Method

  1. Rinse rice, add water, bring to a boil, add figs, and cook until soft.
  2. Stir honey into the congee when serving.

How to use

  • Eat warm.

Caution

Use honey cautiously with diabetes. Not for spleen-stomach damp-heat or exterior febrile illness. Daily dietary prescription; not a substitute for medication.
