Ingredients

  • Honeysuckle flower (jinyinhua) 20 g
  • Winter melon seed (dongguazi) 20 g
  • Coptis (huanglian) 2 g
  • Honey 50 g

Principle

Honeysuckle clears heat and resolves toxins; melon seed drains damp and helps discharge pus; coptis dries damp and clears heat; honey harmonizes. **Clear heat, resolve toxins, drain damp** for damp-heat with stasis-toxin pelvic inflammation pattern (syndrome differentiation required).

Effects & uses

For lower abdominal or bilateral pain with low fever, yellow profuse discharge, red tongue with yellow coat—damp-heat stasis-toxin tendency. Listed in Beijing TCM administration dietary guidance for this PID pattern.

Method

  1. Decoct honeysuckle first; strain the liquid.
  2. Simmer melon seed in that liquid ~15 minutes; add coptis and honey.

How to use

  • Drink warm; one dose per day.

Caution

**Not for cold deficiency of spleen and stomach** (coptis and honeysuckle are cold). **Acute PID with high fever, chills, or purulent discharge needs urgent medical antibiotics**—food care only, not a drug substitute.
