Ingredients

  • Fresh milk 250 ml
  • Honey 10 g

Principle

Milk provides calcium and potassium; calcium may reduce excessive uterine smooth-muscle activity; honey supplies magnesium, which may ease tension. Nutritional and ‘sweet-to-relieve-spasm’ adjunct only (syndrome differentiation required; **direct clinical evidence is limited**).

Effects & uses

Adjunct for menstrual lower abdominal pain, sore back, irritability, or poor sleep—often suggested **before bed**, warm (syndrome differentiation required). **Secondary dysmenorrhea needs medical care.**

Method

  1. Warm milk to 40–50°C.
  2. Stir in honey off heat (do not add honey to boiling milk).

How to use

  • Drink warm at bedtime.

Caution

Lactose intolerance—use lactose-free milk or yogurt; no iced milk. Diabetics limit honey; no honey under age 1. Seek care for severe or worsening pain. Food-care only.
