Licorice, Wheat, and Jujube Tea
Ingredients
- Floating wheat 15g
- Jujube (dazao) 3 pieces
- Honey-fried licorice 6g
Principle
Inspired by the Gan Mai Da Zao Tang line of thinking in the Jin Gui Yao Lue—floating wheat nourishes heart yin and calms the spirit while checking sweating; honey-fried licorice tonifies the middle and eases tension; jujube nourishes blood and quiets the mind. Suited to visceral agitation (zang zao) with emotional instability (syndrome differentiation required).
Effects & uses
For menopausal visceral agitation with mental fog, frequent weeping, loss of self-control, or insomnia with night sweats (syndrome differentiation required). Not a substitute for standard care; severe symptoms require medical evaluation.
Method
- Place all three in a cup, pour boiling water, cover, and steep 10 minutes.
How to use
- Drink warm in place of tea, one serving per day.
Caution
A daily food-care recipe; not a substitute for medication. Seek care when symptoms are severe.
