Ingredients

  • Poria (Fuling) 15g
  • Chinese yam (Shanyao) 30g
  • Japonica rice flour 30g

Principle

Poria strengthens the spleen, drains dampness, and quiets the spirit; Chinese yam gently tonifies spleen and stomach. Ground into a fine powder and cooked to a smooth paste, the texture minimizes mechanical irritation to ulcerated mucosa while supporting spleen function and clearing dampness—suited to peptic ulcer with spleen deficiency and damp accumulation (syndrome differentiation required).

Effects & uses

Appropriate for damp-heavy spleen deficiency peptic ulcer with dull epigastric pain, heaviness in the body, loose stools, and a thick greasy tongue coating (syndrome differentiation required).

Method

  1. Grind dried poria and Chinese yam into fine powder.
  2. Mix with japonica rice flour and water to a paste consistency.
  3. Simmer over low heat until thick; serve warm.

How to use

  • Eat warm as breakfast or a light supplementary meal.

Caution

Poria promotes urination and is unsuitable when yin fluids are depleted (dry mouth and throat, dry stools). Seek medical care during active bleeding. A daily food-care recipe; not a substitute for medication.
