Ingredients

  • Goji berries 15–20g
  • Glossy privet fruit (nüzhenzi) 10–20g

Principle

Goji tonifies liver and kidney and nourishes essence and vision; glossy privet tonifies liver and kidney, clears heat, and brightens the eyes. Both are yin-tonifying—goji leans toward enriching essence, privet toward clear supplementation. Combined they are mild and suit long-term kidney yin care (syndrome differentiation required).

Effects & uses

For liver–kidney yin deficiency with dizziness, tinnitus, sore weak lower back, early gray hair, dry mouth and throat, and five-center heat; also for middle-aged and older daily care when kidney yin is insufficient and for adjunct hair care. Alzheimer’s and similar conditions require standard treatment—this drink is adjunct only (syndrome differentiation required). Not a substitute for medication or cognitive rehabilitation.

Method

  1. Rinse goji and privet; place in a wellness kettle or pot with about 500 ml water and soak 10 minutes.
  2. Bring to a boil, simmer 15–20 minutes, and strain—or steep in boiling water covered 15–20 minutes.

How to use

  • Drink warm as tea, one serving daily. Use about one week then pause several days. Stop during cold, fever, inflammation, or poor digestion.

Caution

Not for spleen–stomach cold with loose stools (privet is cooling and may loosen stools; cold patterns may add ginger and jujube per clinical advice). Use cautiously with damp-heat (yellow greasy coating, bloating, sticky stools). Stop when febrile. Use cautiously in pregnancy. A daily food-care recipe; not a substitute for medication.
