Ingredients

  • Walnut kernels 30g
  • Chicken gizzard lining (jineijin) 30g
  • Lygodium spore (haijin sha) 15g

Principle

Walnut tonifies kidney and moistens intestines—modern research suggests possible urine acidification; chicken gizzard lining resolves stones and frees stranguria; lygodium spore clears heat-damp and relieves painful urination. Ground together as fine powder to free stranguria and assist stone passage.

Effects & uses

For various urinary tract stones, especially under 1 cm diameter (syndrome differentiation required).

Method

  1. Grind all three to fine powder; divide into 3 equal portions.
  2. Each time take one portion, boil in water 3 minutes, add a pinch of salt as guide.

How to use

  • Take on an empty stomach before meals, three times daily.

Caution

Larger stones or significant symptoms require medical care. Lygodium and related herbs are cooling—spleen–stomach cold deficiency should not use long term. A daily food-care recipe; not a substitute for medication.
