Ingredients

  • One small piece dried lotus leaf
  • One small pinch cassia seed (dry-roasted)

Principle

Lotus leaf dispels dampness and lowers lipids; cassia seed clears liver, moistens intestines, and adjunctively lowers lipids. Decocted as tea for people who eat heavily and tend toward dry stools.

Effects & uses

For fatty liver with liver heat tendency, bitter taste, dry eyes, and elevated lipids (syndrome differentiation required).

Method

  1. Snip lotus leaf; use roasted cassia.
  2. Simmer together 10–15 minutes, strain, and drink the decoction.

How to use

  • Drink in place of tea.

Caution

Cassia is cooling—avoid prolonged use with easy diarrhea or spleen–stomach cold deficiency. Use cautiously with hypotension. A daily food-care recipe; not a substitute for medication.
