Ingredients

  • Dried corn silk 30–50g

Principle

Corn silk is neutral and sweet, promotes urination and reduces swelling, clears damp and reduces jaundice, and benefits the gallbladder. Tongji Hospital nutrition recommends 30–50 g decocted as tea; Luohe Central Hospital calls it an affordable “gallbladder drink” (benefiting the gallbladder ≠ expelling stones; syndrome differentiation required).

Effects & uses

Daily gallbladder-support tea for gallstones, helping dilute bile and promote excretion; also seen for mild damp with cholecystitis (syndrome differentiation required).

Method

  1. Rinse corn silk, decoct 15–20 minutes and strain; or steep in boiling water 10 minutes.

How to use

  • Drink as tea, about one dose per day.

Caution

Avoid long-term large amounts if urination is frequent. Not a substitute for medication. Daily food-care formula only.
