Ingredients

  • Mulberry mistletoe (sangjisheng) 30 g
  • Angelica (danggui) 20 g
  • Pork hock (pig trotter) 1

Principle

Mulberry mistletoe tonifies liver and kidney, strengthens sinew and bone, dispels wind-damp, and frees collaterals; angelica nourishes and moves blood. Together they tonify liver–kidney, strengthen sinew and bone, and activate blood to free collaterals—for recovery phase with liver–kidney deficiency and recurrent pain (syndrome differentiation required).

Effects & uses

Recovery-phase soup when joint pain flares on and off with sore, weak knees and lower back, tinnitus, or dry mouth—patterns leaning toward root deficiency.

Method

  1. Stew hock with mulberry mistletoe and angelica in water until very tender; remove herb dregs; drink broth and eat meat.

How to use

  • Eat an appropriate amount each time.

Caution

Not suitable when damp-heat is exuberant or excess fire is present. Does not replace standard treatment or rehabilitation exercise. Daily dietary food care is not a substitute for medication.
