Ingredients

  • Monk fruit 1/4 piece
  • Chrysanthemum 5–10 pieces

Principle

Monk fruit clears heat, moistens lung, and opens the voice; chrysanthemum disperses wind-heat. Clears heat, benefits throat, and moistens lung for heat-leaning constitutions.

Effects & uses

Early wind-heat sore throat, or chronic pharyngitis with dry, itchy throat and hoarseness; auxiliary relief after voice overuse or spicy food “heat” (syndrome differentiation required).

Method

  1. Crack monk fruit shell; use about 1/4; place with chrysanthemum in a cup.
  2. Steep with water above about 80°C, covered 3–5 minutes.

How to use

  • Once or twice daily as tea; avoid empty stomach; not continuously long term—about 3–5 times per week.

Caution

Use cautiously with spleen-stomach deficiency cold; not recommended in pregnancy, lactation, or infants; contraindicated if allergic. Seek care for severe or persistent sore throat. Not a substitute for medication.
