Ingredients

  • Purslane (machixian) 50 g
  • Japonica rice 100 g

Principle

Purslane is cold and sour, enters liver and large intestine; clears heat, detoxifies, cools blood, and stops bleeding—traditionally noted for hemorrhoid and dysentery care.

Effects & uses

For damp-heat hemorrhoids—bright bleeding, anal burning, greasy yellow tongue coating; also summer damp-heat constitution (pattern differentiation required).

Method

  1. Wash purslane and cook congee with rice.

How to use

  • Eat warm.

Caution

Cold spleen–stomach and pregnancy—use cautiously (purslane is cold and may stimulate the uterus). Food-care only—not a drug substitute.
